Hey folks! We finally made it back from the Skki Inn and have been working to get caught up with voicemails, emails, and all the other good stuff that went on while we were all out in the snow. One thing we found upon our return was that vBulletin (the software we use on TrikkeTalk.com) discovered a security hole. Originally we had planned to begin the site update on March 1st, but decided ultimately it’d probably be a better idea to just do it right away for the sake of preventative maintenance so we don’t have to worry about security issues at all. So as it is now, TrikkeTalk has been upgraded to the new software, however it remains down while we finish up the configurations…. so we’ll be sure to keep you all posted on that.
As a reminder -- now that the Skki Inn is over, we have 10 Trikke Skkis that we are getting rid of for $450 to $550. This is a non-dealer, non-Trikke Tech, 3cvTV-special only! We are simply selling off the demo/rental Skkis we’ve used for events. So if you’re at all interested in snagging one of those, be sure to shoot us an email and we’ll get back to you asap and get you squared away. Thanks everyone! Stay tuned for more updates on TrikkeTalk -- and next week we should have some sweet videos available from the Skki Inn.
So a couple days ago we put out a video basically covering some history from the last few months. Well this time we decided to make a video with a little more detail on the upcoming events and site upgrades.
We’ll let the video do the talking -- but we’ll list the links referenced in the video here for your convenience…
If at any time you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to email us! We’ll answer all your questions.
Welcome back to 3cvTV! Wow… talk about down time, eh!? Actually, despite the silence, there have actually been quite a few developments over the last few months!
As many of you know, Nick and I have not been doing our weekly news cast as we did back in the day when we first started 3cvTV. I have not been able to get on TrikkeTalk much to talk about it, but wanted to explain that a big reason is because Nick is now full-time military and simply does not have the time he once did to film and edit all the videos.
This is not at all to say weekly videos are dead -- in fact, now that I’ve changed my focus away from retail and more toward the community and events, I think it’s a great time to start them up again to recap and cover all the latest happenings going on in the Trikke world. So to kick off the new season, one of my best buddies of all time, Devan Thorne, is going to be joining me as my new co-pilot on the show.
For those of you who do not know Devan -- he is the true originator of TrikkeTalk.com. He is the brains behind the operation, the reason it exists, and has been an avid enthusiast for years. In fact -- he’s the reason I got into Trikkes! So I figure -- who better to fill Nick’s shoes than the guy who truly started it all?
Of course -- Nick will still join us as much as he possibly can. He and I still hang out as much as we can, and he still attends all major events -- including the Florida Fun Ride last October, and the 2010 US National Trikke Skki Inn we’re putting together Feb. 16th -- 21st (details at http://skki-inn.com). So you’ll still see him from time to time.
In other news -- I will be revamping TrikkeTalk.com toward the end of this month, so expect up to about a week of downtime or so. We’ll be installing vBulletin’s lastest 4.0 software update, which will come packed with a whole new list of functions and features.
Lastly -- EVENTS!!!
Feb. 16th -- 21st: 2010 US National Trikke Skki Inn and Slalom Competition in Eden, UT! Whether you’re able to come for the entire event, or just a day -- be there! Daily rentals available. Come for meals. Whatever -- just be there! It’s going to be a blast! This is a very popular event we hold every year, and every year it almost doubles in size! This year we had to close public registration in 2 days because we had over 50 people wanting to attend, and did not have enough Skkis to go around. Luckily, since then, we’ve been able to round up plenty more -- so if you still want to go… GO! Shoot an email to us for all the details.
Lots more to cover -- but we’ll do that in future videos. I mostly just wanted to give a quick heads up on the latest news and developments…. or at least as much as we could cram into a 10 minute video.
Glad to be back in the swing of things again -- there are a lot of really cool things happening this year that we’ll be covering. Stay tuned!
